Play Area

During the day, the Class of 2001 will have a fenced-off area where young children of the Class of 2001 can play. The area will have a playhouse, a small slide, small basketball hoop, balls, blocks, coloring books,  and other toys suitable for very young children.  An interlocking orange-and-black mat, generously donated by SoftTiles.com, will provide the children with a soft surface to play on.  Please note that this area will NOT be supervised, so parents will need to supervise their children while in the play area.

For classmates with slightly older children (4 and up), you are welcome to check out the children’s area at the 15^th reunion where they will have several crafts such as playdough, coloring, beaded necklaces, and more.

Events

Friday, 2:30-3:30 p.m.            Art Museum Scavenger Hunt

Looking for a fun activity the whole family can do together? Head to the Art Museum for a self- guided, scavenger hunt activity. Explore the museum at your own pace as you search for these details from our many masterpieces. Stop by the information desk to pick up your game cards.  This activity is geared for ages 5 and up.

Saturday, 10:00-11:00 a.m.     Interactive Music Show

“Miss Kathy” from Music to My Ears will be at our headquarters on Saturday morning from 10 to 11 am.  She will bring a variety of instruments and engage the kids in an interactive music show.  The show will be geared for ages 3 and under, but parents with older children are encouraged to attend as well as the show should appeal to all ages.  Please visit http://www.musictomyears.com/ for more information.

Slightly older children are welcome to attend the following events provided by the 15^th reunion at the kids’ tent at their headquarters at Dodge-Osborn Courtyard:

Feeding/Diapering

The Class of 2001 will also provide a mothers’ room, located at 1901 213, where mothers can go to feed their babies or change diapers (a changing table will be provided).  The room will also have a small fridge for bottle storage.

P-Rade

For mothers looking for a private, air-conditioned place to feed their babies during the P-Rade, the following spaces will be made available by the University during the specified hours on Saturday:

• 1915 Hall – 1- 4 pm
• Dillon Gym Library – 1-5:30 pm
• Lower Whig Lounge (ground floor, entrance is in the back) – 1-5:30 pm

Signs will be posted on the doors.

Tiger Camp

Parents can also sign their children up for the YWCA Tiger Camp program. Tiger Camp is a two‐night program designed to offer your child a safe, fun and caring environment while you are able to enjoy your reunion!

Additional Information and Suggestions

PrincetonKIDS has a wonderful website with tons of information on activities for children in the Princeton area.  It contains suggestions for day trips, indoor play areas (which might be useful if it rains during reunions!), playgrounds, and more.  At least two playgrounds, Maggie’s Park (at Spruce and Linden) and Marquand Park (on Lovers Lane between 206 and Mercer), are just a short walking distance from campus

You might also consider checking out the Princeton Public Library at 65 Witherspoon.  Built after we graduated, it’s a beautiful, modern library with the entire third floor dedicated to children.  The library is a great quiet space to take children who might be a bit overwhelmed by the craziness of reunions.  Although good to visit any time of day, there are also regular story hours for children of all ages, including one on Sunday afternoon from 3:30-4:00.
